Is it a cake or a dress??? I can’t even begin to express how excited I was to make this cake. It was actually inspired by this tutorial. My customer saw this pic, and after some very minor changes, we agreed that it was perfect for her Princess themed baby shower. My cake is a 10″ cake topped with an 8″ cake. (The original is an 8″ cake topped with a 6″ cake.) The inside flavors are vanilla cake with cannolli filling. This is New York; where any native NY baker is expected to produce a delicious, authentic cannolli filling! It’s one of my best-loved flavors, to be honest. The entire cake is covered in white fondant; the top with quilting and pale pink pearls. Each ruffle on the bottom tier is individually cut out, shaped and attached with a dab of white chocolate. One of the most enjoyable cakes I’ve ever had the pleasure of making!
Thank you to Lacey Jakes Cakes for writing such a wonderfully detailed, and easy-to-follow tutorial!
Don’t all little girls love playing Princess? I’m a big Disney franchise fan. I grew up on the stuff, and I’m digging the direction they’re going with more independent, stronger Princesses. (I still love the classics, though!) Without further ado, my first Disney Princess cake for a very royal 4 year old!
This seemed to be the sharper of the two pictures. The only thing non-edible on this cake (in case you were wondering) are the princess figures on top and the tiara.
Even though the first picture was sharper, this had the better color.
I’ve been going through old photos. This is a Sweet 16 cake I did for a teenager, who was killed a year later. I had so much positive feedback from her family and friends about this cake. Although the celadon / lime green color was not my choice, I tried to make her cake look like the Cinderella fantasy she wanted. I think it came out well, and I’m looking forward to future orders for a similar theme.
Vanilla cake filled with marzipan and almond butter cream. Coverd in almond buttercream and royal icing.
Crown & Gloves Side Cake, same flavors as main cake
Glass Slipper- What's a Cinderella cake without the kicks?!
Full Table View- I think you can see a bit of the "Free" cake the hall threw in for free for their party. No wonder they wanted one of mine! 😉
